Dayton utility board approves operator contract, accepts adjustment report and authorizes surplus auctions

The Town of Dayton Utility Board on March 18 approved several routine items, including an adjustment report for February 1–28, 2025; a certified water operator contract for Mark Harlow; and authorization to auction surplus equipment.
Town Board President Marc Buhrmester explained that, after developments with Dan Torres's certification, Mark Harlow agreed to return as the town's certified water operator. Utility Vice President Rocky Richards moved to accept the contract for Harlow; Buhrmester seconded the motion. The board approved the contract by roll call (Carla Snodgrass, Marc Buhrmester, Rocky Richards and Steve Schuhle voting yes).
The board also approved an adjustment report covering February 1 through February 28, 2025 after a motion by Rocky Richards and a second from Marc Buhrmester. The minutes list the date range for the report but do not itemize individual adjustments.
On surplus property the board approved two motions to sell unneeded equipment at auction: Marc Buhrmester moved to put a small surplus trailer up for auction (seconded by Steve Schuhle), and later moved to put a surplus Ford truck with spreader and plow up for auction (seconded by Steve Schuhle); both motions passed unanimously.
In operational updates, Marc Buhrmester addressed a lift station alarm at the cemetery that staff member Kurt resolved. Kurt and Mike reported they had been checking water-line valves and found several only half open and one fully shut on the south side of the railroad tracks; reopening those valves increased pressure in Baker Farms.
Utility Vice President Rocky Richards asked about part-time employees exceeding hours; Town Clerk-Treasurer Bridget Cadwallader said employees diligently track hours to avoid overages. Rocky Richards moved to adjourn; the meeting was adjourned and the clerk attested the minutes.
