Polk County approves haulers license and interim use permit; receives McIntosh School update

Jacob Snyder, Assistant Environmental Services Administrator, presented Planning & Zoning items on June 16. The Board unanimously approved a CY2026 Polk County Haulers License for Paul Eckstein of Eckstein Enterprises LLC (motion by Commissioner Paul Reese; second Commissioner Ross Pape).
The Board also adopted Resolution 2026-31, approving an interim use permit for Elena and Klemente Boianoff to place a temporary secondary house on Parcel #72.00140.01; the resolution was offered by Commissioner Ross Pape, seconded by Commissioner Paul Reese, and adopted unanimously. Members received an update on the status of the old McIntosh School building collapse; the minutes record an update but no formal action.
