The Wapsie Valley Comm School District Board of Directors approved several routine but consequential operational items at its Feb. 17 meeting, including the 2025–26 school calendar, an increase in preschool tuition and publication of the district's property-tax notice. President Wolfe called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m.
The board unanimously approved the 2025–26 school calendar as presented (moved by Director Sauerbrei; seconded by Director Aiello). The board also voted 3–0 to raise monthly preschool tuition from $375 to $400 effective for the 2025–26 school year.
Directors voted to publish the property-tax statement at a maximum rate of $14.65 and set a public hearing on the tax levy for March 20, 2025. That motion carried 3–0.
The board approved one early graduate, Ella Morarend, contingent on completion of all graduation requirements. The board thanked departing staff members after approving resignations for Brianna Decker (paraprofessional), effective Feb. 19, 2025, and Beth Fagerlind (custodian), effective May 31, 2025.
