Cusseta–Chattahoochee commissioners approve routine business, table a CUP; executive session held

The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County approved several routine items during its August meetings and tabled at least one land‑use item that drew an abstention from a commissioner.
At the Aug. 6 regular meeting commissioners unanimously approved multiple sets of minutes and took a series of motions on agenda items. Commissioner Jason Frost moved to table budget amendments; that motion passed. The commission reappointed Walter Miller and Linda Beck to five‑year terms on the Industrial Development Authority; those reappointments were moved and seconded and recorded as unanimous votes in the meeting minutes.
The commission also approved funding for the local 4‑H renewal request and approved a DOT roundabout relocation grant. On a land‑use matter identified as Hoyte CUP (110 Stagecoach Road), Commissioner Frost moved to table action until Dec. 3, 2024 (or until a judicial judgment), with Commissioner Biddle seconding; Commissioner Damon Hoyte abstained from that vote.
The commission voted unanimously to enter executive session at 6:47 p.m. for discussions of personnel and legal matters and reconvened at 7:15 p.m.; Chairman Coffey said no votes were taken in closed session. An affidavit filed by the chair and attested in the record referenced O.C.G.A. § 50‑14‑2 and § 50‑14‑3 to document the lawful purpose for the closed meeting.
