Residents raise drainage, RV occupancy and parking concerns at Mantorville council meeting

During public concerns on July 14, resident Kim Ibach raised complaints about water run-off, a garage needing paint and trailers on a neighboring property at 21 County Road 21. The council determined that "the drainage is not violating Minnesota Drainage law, so it is a private drainage dispute," that the trailers were on private property and not violating city ordinance, and gave the owner until Oct. 1 to paint the garage.
Pastor Johannes Marsland was asked about an RV parked at 515 Walnut Street and said no one is living there; he told the council that people stay there but not longer than two weeks at a time. The minutes note that Mantorville City Ordinances prohibit occupying an RV in someone else’s parking area for more than two weeks. Because the practice of rotating occupants raised a “gray area,” City Clerk-Treasurer Gretchen Lohrbach will consult the city attorney for clarification.
Council also noted complaints about parking on Virgil Andrist’s yard during Tuesday night music at Riverside Park; Public Works Lead Joe Adams said he would drive by and check the situation the next day.
