The Mantorville City Council on July 14 accepted vendor quotes for surfacing and fencing at a new pickleball court in Slingerland Park and approved several event-related items for community festivals.
Council accepted ATE Recreation’s quote of $18,293 for pickleball court surfacing and Rolling Green’s quote of $17,942 for fencing. Councilmember Nash moved and Councilmember Hoaglund seconded approval of both quotes; the motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
On event business, the council voted to waive the temporary liquor license fee for the Mantorville Restoration Association’s Sept. 6–7 event. The motion to waive the fee carried 3 ayes, 0 nays, with Councilmembers Lynnette Nash and Lyle Hoaglund recorded as abstaining because they are MRA members. The council also approved exclusive use of Riverside Park for Marigold Days and authorized fireworks on Goat Island (Saturday night at 8:30 p.m., Sunday as a rain date); those motions similarly carried 3 ayes, 0 nays with Nash and Hoaglund abstaining.
City Clerk-Treasurer Gretchen Lohrbach will check availability of the Fire Department, Dodge Center Ambulance and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office for National Night Out and will follow up on social-district procedures for Marigold Days. Public Works Lead Joe Adams and staff will follow up on parking logistics for event nights.
