At a special meeting Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, the School District of Rhinelander Board of Education approved the district's 2025–26 tax levy and adopted a balanced $39,046,170 budget.
The board approved a total tax levy of $30,387,640. The levy breakdown recorded in the motion was $26,980,318 for the General Fund (Fund 10), $114,322 for Non‑Referendum Debt (Fund 38), $1,893,000 for Referendum Debt (Fund 39) and $1,400,000 for Community Service. The action was moved by board member Mike Roberts and seconded by Kurt Helke; the motion passed by voice vote.
The board then approved the district's proposed 2025–26 budget on a motion by Mike Roberts, seconded by Duane Frey. The motion recorded total revenues of $39,046,170 and total expenditures of $39,046,170, and it passed by voice vote.
No members of the public addressed the board at the meeting. Superintendent Eric Burke gave no report, and Board President Ron Counter was absent. The special meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. in the Superior Diesel Advanced Learning Center at Rhinelander High School and adjourned at 6:04 p.m.
