Charlestown Township’s Environmental Advisory Committee used its Feb. 9 meeting to finalize several outreach and operational items, approving a new EAC logo and reviewing plans for web and social-media outreach, a YouTube channel, and ongoing recycling programs.
Pete Goodman circulated the final logo and the committee approved it; the artist will deliver final files the EAC will own and Goodman will upload them to the EAC Google Drive. Carol Armstrong said she would send a link to a reformatted microplastics presentation (reformatted by Heather from Stroud) so members can reconsider creating an EAC YouTube channel in March; the minutes record a poll result of three in favor and four neutral.
Members reviewed the battery-box recycling program: boxes have been filling and are mailed to Cirba for recycling; Armstrong described packing and UPS logistics. The committee noted the township website now links to the EAC page. Talnack volunteered to explore social-media approaches used by neighboring townships and work with Green to develop a contact list for event outreach. The EAC also discussed installing and activating a kestrel-box camera; Motel and Dan Walker installed the kestrel box and the camera is expected to go live by March.
The committee recorded these operational decisions and asked members to follow up on posting schedules, file transfers, and outreach contacts ahead of upcoming events and newsletter deadlines.
