Board approves superintendent pay, M&O pro statement, out-of-state travel and a $25,000-a-year lease with Litchfield Park

In addition to adopting the FY2027 budget, the Litchfield Elementary School District board unanimously approved superintendent performance pay for 2025–26, a pro statement for the November M&O override, an out-of-state travel request for a communications hire, and an intergovernmental lease with the city of Litchfield Park for $25,000 per year.
At the June 23, 2026 special meeting the Litchfield Elementary School District Governing Board approved several routine action items by unanimous voice votes.
The board approved superintendent performance pay for the 2025–26 school year following a recent evaluation and use of a new evaluation tool, as summarized by Dr. Davidson.
CFO Vaughn explained the board must submit a pro statement for the district’s maintenance and operations (M&O) override election to Maricopa County Elections by Aug. 7; the board approved the pro statement for the Nov. 3, 2026 election without revision.
The board also approved an out-of-state travel request for the district’s newly hired communications generalist to attend the NSPRA national conference in New Orleans. Dr. Davidson said the hire has been approved and is expected to begin on July 1; trustees indicated support for professional development opportunities.
Finally, the board approved an intergovernmental agreement and lease with the city of Litchfield Park for excess district property near Sagebrush Street to be used temporarily as a public works facility. Vaughn said the lease terms include $25,000 per year rent and an option for a two-year term; board members asked about visibility and student pickup/drop-off impacts and staff said the site is already fenced and the city manager (a district parent) will coordinate to minimize disruptions.
Each item was approved by voice vote (Ms. Wallace, Mr. Owens, Ms. Moran and President Ziemer recorded as "yay").
