Darlington council approves routine minutes, payroll, meeting calendar and $500 cleanup quote

The Darlington Town Council handled several routine items at its Oct. 3 meeting, approving prior meeting minutes, payroll and appropriation reports, and administrative calendars, and authorizing a property clean-up contract.
A motion by Vice President Terese Sutherlin to approve the Sept. 5 and Sept. 19, 2024 minutes was seconded by Marilyn Cohee and recorded as approved 5-0. President Nicole Parker moved to approve the payroll docket, accounts receivable transfers, and appropriation report for September 2024; Marilyn Cohee seconded and the motion passed 5-0. President Parker also moved to approve the 2025 Darlington council meeting dates and the 2025 holiday calendar; Councilman Jeremy Weliever seconded and that motion passed 5-0.
In old business the council approved a $500 quote from Blake Stuck to clean up an abandoned house and required the contractor to provide insurance and a release of liability; Jeremy Weliever moved, Terese Sutherlin seconded, and the motion passed 5-0. Clerk-Treasurer Michelle Cash presented the September billing report and reported the Toll House roof repair was completed and paid by Indiana Pump Insurance.
The meeting ended with the announcement that the next Town Board and Utility meeting is scheduled for Nov. 7, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at the Darlington Community Center, and with a 5-0 vote to adjourn.
