Councilmember Daters moved to approve the general fund bills and to authorize the city clerk to issue warrants in payment; Councilmember Stalzer seconded. The motion carried with Daters, Faircloth, Stalzer and Vanderah voting aye. Mayor Madaleine Welton was recorded as absent. City Clerk Jenny Fogle recorded the Treasurer's ending June balance as $180,258.19.
In a separate motion, Councilmember Daters moved and Councilmember Stalzer seconded approval of a prepaid contract payment of $1,189.12 to New Century for fiscal year 2024–25; the motion carried on the same vote. The agenda listed multiple departmental claims and reimbursements presented for approval, including Alliant Energy charges for street lighting and the fire station, a contract law enforcement line item for $1,147.50, payroll and IPERS entries for the clerk, and a $7,137.94 invoice to RRD Stalzer, Inc. for playground mulch and related materials.
The council also announced a public hearing to consider the sale of the property at 204 2nd St., set for Aug. 12, 2024. No mover or second for that scheduling was recorded in the minutes; the hearing date was entered on the record.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m.; the next regular meeting was scheduled for Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. The Marshall County Sheriff noted the contract law enforcement report earlier in the meeting.
