Representatives from CB Burke Engineering told the Town of Dayton council on July 31 that the firm can help the town meet Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit requirements and assist with preparing a stormwater budget and stormwater construction permits.
Lori Gates of CB Burke Engineering and a colleague, Heather, described the scope of MS4 obligations and handed Marc Buhrmester a contract for CB Burke to provide those services. Marc said he had given the contract to the town attorney for review before the council would make any decisions.
Council members also discussed routine water operations. Carla Snodgrass described certified water operator license requirements and said she had contacted 'Dan' to clarify daily testing procedures; Marc Buhrmester suggested the town continue daily water sampling while awaiting clarification. Marc also reported that FJF service has been engaged to clean and service lift stations, that ME Simpson has previously serviced town fire hydrants, and that the town needs several water meters installed โ he has a meeting with Brenneco scheduled on Monday to discuss meter installations. The council discussed 811 locates in the context of those projects.
Nick, the superintendent of the Town of Mulberry, spoke briefly about his duties and suggested possible places to post the Utility Manager job opening. The council took no action on the CB Burke contract at the meeting beyond referring it to the attorney for review.
