Dupont board adopts policies, approves contracts and opens mowing bids; several motions carried

The Dupont Town Board on Jan. 14 adopted a set of governance policies, approved several contracts and lease agreements, authorized competitive bids for mowing contracts, approved the 2025 payroll ordinance, and named officers for 2025.
Member Ford moved, and Member Christine Dicken seconded, to approve a package of policies including Debit Card Usage, Contracting Policy, Internal Control Standards and Nepotism Policy; the board recorded that all members signed annual certifications and the motion carried. New member Jon Adams was instructed to complete the Internal Control Standards webinar and sign certification when finished.
The board reviewed and approved four contracts and agreements covering sewage department maintenance, the Dupont Town Community Park lease agreement, a fire protection agreement and related maintenance. Member Ford moved to approve the four contracts; Member Christine Dicken seconded and the motion carried.
The board also reviewed mowing contracts for the Town of Dupont and the Dupont Sewage Utilities and voted to open the 2025 mowing contracts to bid; Clerk/Treasurer Robyn J. Meek will start the paperwork to accept bids. The 2025 Payroll Ordinance was reviewed with no changes and approved by motion.
Finally, the board voted to name officers for the 2025 calendar year: Clerk/Treasurer Robyn J. Meek and Council President Kevin Burnette. All motions recorded in the minutes are described as "Motion carried"; the minutes do not include roll-call vote tallies.
