Wabash council accepts compliance statements from Kendall Group and Plum Square LLC

The Wabash City Council accepted statements of compliance for two business projects that the city previously reviewed under its tax-abatement and development programs.
Kendall Group representatives told the council the company’s new regional headquarters is a recently completed 18,000-square-foot building with about 6,000 square feet of office space. Staff explained the transfer involves Logan Property LLC’s previously approved abatement moving to Kendall Group; the council recorded a roll-call vote to accept the statement of compliance. The Kendall Group representative said the company currently employs about 18–19 people at the location and expects to host an open house.
The council also approved a statement of compliance for Plum Square LLC. Owner Mike Lewis said the company expects to close on the building on April 16 and plans to renovate the former Wabash Magnetics factory to manufacture kitchen cabinets, vanities and other casework with an online, ready-to-assemble product line. Lewis projected manufacturing operations could begin in late June and framed the project as a community investment.
Both items were moved, seconded and approved by roll call. In one case staff noted a separate compliance filing needed corrections and that applicant will return to the next meeting for that item.
