Planning Commission flags tower inspections, routes IUP/CUP compliance checks to commission

The Rock Creek Planning Commission on June 17 reviewed annual interim/conditional use permits and found most sites in compliance but flagged a radio tower for missing inspections and insurance documentation.
During a routine compliance review, commissioners recorded that Johnny Mold’s gravel pit, Juli Bombalier’s dog training and Andrew Olson’s West Rock Repair were currently in compliance and ‘‘good to go for another year.’’ Commissioners noted, however, that Natalie Evans’ towers had no RF inspection on file since 2021 and no current certificates of insurance or contact information for the owner.
Deputy Clerk Ashley Rauschnot told the commission she would work on obtaining the missing documentation before the next meeting and report back in July. Commissioner Nancy Rys asked why staff had been performing initial compliance checks and bringing results to the City Council first; Rauschnot said that Sam Christenson had directed staff since last fall to send letters and update files before presenting outstanding items. The commission decided that going forward all IUP/CUP compliance checks will be routed to the Planning Commission first, rather than being presented to the Council initially.
The commission did not take formal enforcement action at the meeting; staff will follow up on the missing RF inspection and certificates of insurance and return with updates.
