Superintendent Dr. Cannon told the Fairfield School Board that the district achieved a 100% graduation rate for the most recent graduating class and that the outcome appears on the state's Graduation GPS dashboard. "We got a 100% graduation rate. That is a phenomenal accomplishment," he said, crediting high school staff and targeted interventions.
According to the presentation, the graduating cohort included 129 seniors and the district reported zero dropouts and zero waivers for the core diploma pathway. Dr. Cannon thanked the high school administration and staff, noting work to identify and support students earlier through PLC and RTI practices. Assistant/high-school administrator Jason Grassy (presented by the superintendent) was singled out for his team's work to catch students earlier and support summer make-up opportunities.
Board members and staff framed the result as a multi-year improvement: presenters compared the district's graduation percentage with prior years, said the district’s rate rose from the low-90s to 100% and noted that Fairfield is among the larger cohorts in the state to post a 100% rate with no waivers. A public celebration was announced for next month in the high school cafeteria.
What the transcript records: The board celebrated the result, and a more detailed presentation will follow at a future meeting. The district cited the state's Graduation GPS dashboard as the source for the published rate; the meeting record does not include individual student records or the district's detailed cohort verification documents.
