Canby administrator reports vacancy on Pioneerland Library Board; preliminary budget and appointment tabled

At its Sept. 3 meeting Canby’s City Administrator reported a vacancy on the Pioneerland Library Board and the council discussed but tabled the appointment of Paulette Blair pending more information; the preliminary budget was also tabled and labor bargaining notices from the Supervisory unit and IBEW were acknowledged.
During the Sept. 3 meeting City Administrator Bonnie Merritt reported a vacancy on the Pioneerland Library Board and informed the council that a Canby resident has expressed interest in filling it. Council Member Susan Cram raised the interested resident; the council tabled the appointment of Paulette Blair pending further information about the board and the vacancy.
Council also discussed the preliminary budget and chose to table it until the next meeting to allow additional review.
Merritt reported the city received Notices of Desire to Negotiate from the Supervisory bargaining unit and from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). The notices were acknowledged by the council; the transcript records no substantive bargaining terms or timelines.
The meeting adjourned after these items were recorded.
