The Dupont Town Board met on Oct. 8, 2024, and approved the minutes from its Sept. 10 meeting. President Burnette called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; Clerk/Treasurer Robyn Meek was present, while Town Attorney Heidi Sage and Sewage Superintendent Scott Williams were noted as not in attendance.
Robyn Meek presented the treasurer's report showing the town checking account balance at $209,382.34 as of Sept. 30, 2024, and detailed fund balances including the General Fund at $17,604.38, MVH at $26,274.68, MVH Restricted at $39,787.61, LRS at $38,387.87, CEDIT (LIT) at $66,469.56, Public Safety (LIT) at $8,215.56, CCIF at $9,853.97, CCMG at $1.00, Opioid Distribution Abatement at $786.11 and Dupont Community Playground donations at $1.60. Under old business the board noted that work on the trailer park sewage main still needs follow-up; the board did not record a contractor or timeline and directed staff to pursue completion. The stop sign at the corner of South and NW Front Street was reported as needing reinstallation and the board agreed to follow up to restore the sign.
In new business, the board reviewed park items: a Playground UTV Ride was held Sept. 7, and the Soup, Stew, Chili and Brew event is scheduled for Oct. 12, with Ryan Puckett and the Park Committee participating. Board members discussed whether to paint a mural on the park fence and decided against a mural; they approved staining/protecting the fence instead. No cost estimates or implementation dates were provided in the meeting record.
No delinquent sewer bills were reported. All bills and vouchers were signed and reviewed by the board. The board scheduled a budget-adoption meeting for Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, and set its next regular meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. After no further business the meeting was adjourned on a motion by Lonnie Dicken and seconded by Ford.
