Preston Early and Eric Anderson briefed the Pequot Lakes Public Schools board on construction progress tied to the district’s recent bond project. They said demolition and site preparation are underway at the high school, footings and foundations are scheduled to go in for career/technology and early childhood spaces, and LED lighting and HVAC upgrades are being completed in classrooms.
Preston noted the project is phased across multiple summers: the first summer’s interior work and parking expansions are targeted to be ready for the coming fall; additions (CTE wing, high school main office and middle school gym) are slated for completion around December; auditorium/ theater work is scheduled for completion in March 2027; and remaining summer work will include finishes, flooring and additional parking. Eric said the elementary building permit has recently been approved and permit review comments have been closed — a late permit contributed to several weeks of schedule slippage but contractors are pushing to meet target dates.
Board members asked about opportunities to accelerate some site work such as additional parking near the football field and requested that project updates and diagrams be posted to the district website to inform the public. District staff agreed to circulate the facilities update and the diagram to the board and suggested a future walk‑through for board members.
