The council approved multiple community‑and-operations items during its June 6 meeting.
Creek Club representative Kretta Menuey requested two additional porta‑potties to be delivered to City Hall for Rose Creek Fun Days. The council approved plans for Fun Days events including a parade, kiddie carnival, food and concessions, a softball tournament, and a Sunday car show. Clerk Kristine Allas will create a map for the citywide rummage sales and ordered six extra trash cans (bringing the park total to 12) plus a 4‑yard dumpster for the park.
Resident Dave Whalen’s request for a building permit to place a single‑stall steel garage on a lot with an existing concrete slab was approved (motion by Council Man Wendel Sprung; second by Councilor Andrew Felten). Public works staff presented equipment quotes; Council Man Sprung moved to approve the purchase of a floor jack and jack stands with Clerk Allas paying on the city card; Council Man Felten seconded and the motion carried. Bob Jax reported he is checking on a locator and a fuel tank for the truck.
Isaac Felten brought a senior‑project proposal to redo the tennis courts and host a pickleball tournament (8 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday during Fun Days) with an entry fee, prize awards for top two finishers and remainder proceeds to Rebels; the council approved the project. Council also approved a $300 donation from the Gambling Tax account to the Special Olympics Friendship Wagon Train passing through Rose Creek.
The council approved payroll and invoices and adjourned at 7:44 p.m.; the next meeting was set for July 5, 2022.
