Rose Creek council reviews 2021 audit, refers contract to attorney and approves routine business

The Rose Creek City Council covered several routine items on April 4, receiving the citys 2021 audit, referring a contract for legal review, approving a maintenance equipment purchase and accepting a slate of FY2022 appointments.
Andrew Forliti of accounting firm Smith Schafer presented the 2021 audit and told the council the audit books are available for public review. The council recorded no questions in the minutes beyond the presentation and noted the audit had been reviewed by Councilman Mark Conradt and Clerk-Treasurer Kristine Allas on March 24.
On a separate matter, council members agreed to seek legal advice on a Bargen Incorporated contract. Councilman Mike Chavez moved to send the contract, a copy of the check and supporting information to Attorney Troy Gilchrist for review; Councilman Mark Conradt seconded and the motion passed.
Public works maintenance staff requested a 41-gallon sprayer/trailer from Northern Tools for $702.80; Councilman Chavez moved to approve the purchase, Councilman Felten seconded and the motion passed. The council also accepted the FY2022 appointments (acting mayor; official newspaper; official bank; legal counsel; auditor; department assignments) as read in the agenda and approved payment of all invoices and payroll before adjourning at 7:55 p.m.
The council recorded Creek Club announcements about community events but took no further motions on those items at the meeting.
