The Rose Creek City Council on April 4 granted a conditional building permit and a fence permit with variances to property owner Sheryl Taylor for a lot near the citys wells.
Taylor asked for a 3-foot variance from a 5-foot building setback to place a 10-by-16-foot non-permanent utility shed, and she asked for increased fence height and a 2-foot variance on a 3-foot fence setback. Councilwoman Bobbie Greenlee moved to approve the building permit on the condition that the site clears checks with the citys insurance carrier, the Minnesota Department of Health and the citys Wellhead Protection plan; Taylor agreed to relocate anything required at her own expense. Clerk-Treasurer Kristine Allas was directed to notify the three agencies and await their replies before finalizing the permit.
Councilman Mike Chavez moved separately to approve the fence permit per ordinance, authorizing fence panels up to 6 feet with posts at 6 feet 6 inches and granting a 2-foot variance on the west-side setback; Councilwoman Greenlee seconded and Mayor Craig Weis approved. No variance was granted for the south-side setback.
