The Wapsie Valley Community School District Board on Sept. 16 voted to table the proposed Phase 3 HVAC project and requested additional cost scenarios before moving forward.
Director Aiello moved to table the Phase 3 HVAC project as presented; Director Kaufman seconded the motion, which passed 3-0. The board asked Brian Stark to compile and present alternative HVAC scenarios with cost estimates at the board's October meeting.
The action paused formal consideration of Phase 3 while keeping the project on the agenda for further review. Board members said they wanted clearer cost comparisons before prioritizing facility spending; at the meeting the board listed restarting the facility-prioritization process among its concerns. No timeline or budget allocation for Phase 3 was approved at the Sept. 16 meeting.
Next step: Brian Stark will provide detailed scenarios and estimated costs at the board's October meeting, when the board may revisit the project.
