Fall River RDA OKs $15,000 cathodic-protection inspection paid from EDI grant

The Fall River Redevelopment Authority voted to approve a warranty-inspection scope from Far Infrastructure and Environment LLC for the authority’s cathodic-protection system and authorized the chair or executive director to sign amendment number three to the agreement.
Karen Martin, project manager, summarized the work: a cathodic engineer will measure continuity, divers will perform an underwater inspection of anodes and welds, and the team will assess any degradation after one year. Martin said the cost will not exceed $15,000 and will be charged to the EDI grant that paid for the original cathodic-protection installation.
“This will allow us to check connectivity is all still there and that it’s doing its job,” Martin said. The board approved the inspection scope by voice vote after a motion and second were recorded.
Next steps: staff will schedule the inspection, coordinate the dive team, and submit invoices to the EDI grant for payment.
