Board members asked for clarification about how the surplus sawmill would be handled. A staff member responding to the question said the district would follow the public contracting process: "we are going to attempt to sell it to recoup some money from it. And ideally it would go that way and if not then... it would go the way of property that we surplus out." The staff member added the saw in question is more complex than the functioning sawmill the district retains because it has two blades.
The consent agenda also included acceptance of Zach Brown's resignation as natural resources teacher at the high school, effective June 12, 2026. The board did not discuss replacements or next steps for that position during the special meeting.
The motion to approve the consent agenda was voiced and approved by members present; members indicated assent verbally and the chair declared the motion passed unanimously. After the vote the board moved to the next, informational item.
