Bentley Memorial Library board adopts Collection Development and Maintenance Policy, sets 2026 meeting schedule

At its Sept. 9, 2025 regular meeting in Bolton, the Bentley Memorial Library Board voted to adopt a Collection Development and Maintenance Policy to satisfy new statutory requirements, including provisions for programs and displays. Loni Hryn moved to approve the presented policy; Camden Soucy seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The board also approved its meeting schedule for 2026. Kelly Goldsnider moved to adopt the listed dates and Claire Fazzina seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Approved meeting dates are Jan. 13, March 10, May 12, July 14, Sept. 15 and Nov. 10, 2026.
In old business, the board tabled approval of the broader Library Policies Document until the January meeting. The director noted a "Freedom To View" statement endorsed by the American Library Association will be added as an addendum to the policy book and will be brought to the board for a vote at a future meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 4:55 p.m.; the next regular meeting was announced for Nov. 18, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
