Creek Club cleared for Oct. 28 and Nov. 18 fundraisers; council OKs two one-day liquor permits

The Rose Creek Creek Club told the City Council on Sept. 6 that it plans a Halloween Spooktacular and Haunted Trail for Oct. 28 and a cancer fundraiser at the fire hall on Nov. 18. Creek Club representative Kretta Menuey asked the council to approve separate one-day liquor permits for each event and confirmed that insurance coverage had been checked with Curt Sheely.
Councilman Wendel Sprung moved to approve the liquor license for the Oct. 28 event and the Nov. 18 event with a $50 fee for each; Councilman Andrew Felten seconded the motion and Mayor Craig Weis approved it. Clerk Kristine Allas will prepare the permit certificates; Menuey handed over payment for the two permits at the meeting.
Menuey also reported other Creek Club preparations: cleaning the concession stand and planning a band for Rose Creek Days 2024. The club presented a photo and Grand Marshal nominations to the council. The council recorded that insurance had been checked for the events and that short-term permits and concession logistics will be handled through the City Clerk's office.
