Browerville council authorizes summary publication of multiple ordinances and updates fee schedule

At its April 9, 2025 meeting the Browerville City Council unanimously approved resolutions to authorize summary publication of several new and amended ordinances and amended the 2025 fee schedule to include fees tied to those ordinances.
The Browerville City Council on April 9 unanimously approved a package of resolutions authorizing the summary publication of multiple new and amended city ordinances and amended the 2025 fee schedule to include fees associated with those ordinances.
Council action covered six ordinance publications: a new Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants chapter (Title 3, Chapter 6; Res. 20250514-2); a new Rental Unit Registration chapter (Title 3, Chapter 6; Res. 20250514-3); an amendment to the Nuisances chapter (Title 4, Chapter 4; Res. 20250514-4); a new Property Maintenance Code (Title 8, Chapter 3; Res. 20250514-5); a new Dwelling Maintenance Code (Title 8, Chapter 4; Res. 20250514-6); and an amendment to General Penalty provisions (Title 1, Chapter 4; Res. 20250514-7). The council then approved Resolution 20250514-8 to amend the 2025 fee schedule to add fees required by the new ordinances.
Each resolution was approved by roll-call-style motion recorded in the minutes as follows: Res. 20250514-2 (motion by Madison Rickbeil, second by Sue Wiersgalla, unanimous); Res. 20250514-3 (motion by Joshua Goertz, second by Madison Rickbeil, unanimous); Res. 20250514-4 (motion by Madison Rickbeil, second by Joshua Goertz, unanimous); Res. 20250514-5 (motion by Joshua Goertz, second by Madison Rickbeil, unanimous); Res. 20250514-6 (motion by Madison Rickbeil, second by Sue Wiersgalla, unanimous); Res. 20250514-7 (motion by Joshua Goertz, second by Madison Rickbeil, unanimous); and Res. 20250514-8 amending the fee schedule (motion by Sue Wiersgalla, second by Joshua Goertz, unanimous).
The minutes do not record the text of the ordinances or the fee amounts; the council authorized summary publication, which begins the formal notice process under city procedure. The resolutions and summary publication do not, in themselves, state effective dates for the ordinances; the minutes list only the council action to publish summaries and to update the fee schedule.
