County board approves routine items; Fireworks permit issued for Oak Shores

At its June 23 meeting the Emmet County Board of Supervisors approved routine business and heard brief updates from members and staff.
The board approved the June 16 meeting minutes (motion by Tim Schumacher, second by Todd Glasnapp) and approved the meeting agenda (motion by Jeff Quastad, second by John Pluth); both motions passed unanimously. The board also approved a fireworks permit for Megan Huntley for July 4–5 at Oak Shores, 4502 230th Street, Wallingford (motion by Jeff Quastad, second by Tim Schumacher; all ayes).
Supervisors shared committee updates: Schumacher noted NWIPDC and RIDES meetings; Quastad reported the Board of Adjustment meeting and Housing Trust meeting were postponed; Hansen reported participation in SHIELD, Early Childhood and the monthly department head meeting; Glasnapp noted NWIa Housing activity. The board discussed courthouse landscaping bids but recorded no award. The board also reviewed the Emmet County agenda for the June 30 99 County Tour, which will include visits to the West Administration addition, the Meteorite Center and the Secondary Roads new shop.
The meeting adjourned at 10:23 a.m. and supervisors then moved drainage files to the West Administration Building as noted in the minutes.
