The Chattahoochee Hills City Council on Aug. 21 adopted Ordinance Item 25-040 to set the city's ad valorem tax rate for fiscal year 2026 at 8.2. Councilmember Ruby Foster moved to approve the ordinance and Councilmember Rodney Peek seconded; the motion "passed unanimously," according to the meeting minutes.
City Manager Rokovitz presented the item and Mayor Pro-Tem Camille Lowe opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke before Lowe closed the hearing. The short special-called meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. and adjourned at 5:06 p.m.
Councilmember Ruby Foster moved and Councilmember Rodney Peek seconded approval of the meeting agenda earlier in the session; that procedural motion also passed unanimously. The minutes of the meeting were later certified with the signature of City Clerk S. Diane White and marked "Approved Sept. 9, 2025."
The minutes record the adopted rate as "8.2"; the meeting record does not specify the unit (for example, mills per $1,000 of assessed value or a percentage). The minutes do not include further discussion of projected revenue, exemptions, or the ordinance's effective date.
No other motions or amendments related to Item 25-040 were recorded. The meeting included three council members in attendance for the vote; Mayor Reed, Councilmember Schmidt and Lightsey were noted as absent.
