Fire, Sheriff and Maintenance Reports: Darmstadt Logs Runs; Sheriff Seeks Opioid Revenue Transfer

Brandon Zimmer read the fire department’s monthly report, saying the department responded to 10 runs inside Darmstadt, performed carbon monoxide checks, handled five EMS calls and responded to a natural gas leak, with an average response time of 3.56 minutes.
Sheriff Noah Robinson thanked the town for help arranging an agreement to transfer state opioid revenues to the county sheriff’s department for opioid-related programs. Robinson said attorneys are reviewing documents provided by Clerk-Treasurer Mallory Lowe and expressed hope the transfer would be implemented soon.
Cecil Poag read the superintendent’s maintenance report: there were 35 locates and 21 sewer calls since the last meeting; crews installed deer-crossing signs, removed dead trees, installed an OSHA safety shower at the shop, and completed septic tank and pump station inspections ahead of schedule. Poag said the county is responsible for town bridges and is planning to replace the bridge on Old State Road near the 4-H center in the future.
