Dayton council approves allowance and claims dockets, monthly reports and permits bicentennial yard sale

The Town of Dayton council approved routine financial business and a series of administrative requests at its March 18 meeting.
On a motion by Board President Marc Buhrmester, the council approved the Allowance Docket for February 2025 in the amount of $27,262.49; Rocky Richards seconded and the motion carried on a roll-call vote. The council then approved the Claims Docket dated March 18, 2025 in the amount of $14,219.17 on a subsequent motion and roll call.
Council members also approved the February 2025 Bank Reconciliation, Fund Report and Revenue Report and accepted the Utility Board minutes and Town Council minutes for February 18, 2025. Clerk-Treasurer Bridget Cadwallader told the council the 2024 Annual Financial Report had been published in the newspaper last month.
Separately, Cadwallader asked permission for the bicentennial committee to use the town-hall parking lot and green space for town-wide yard sales on the weekend of May 17, 2025; the council granted the request. The council also authorized 'Cindy' to spend up to $200 on flowers and potting soil for planters at town hall. No objections or public comments were recorded.
These approvals were routine procedural actions that maintain municipal operations and event planning; the council did not take additional policy actions tied to these approvals at the March 18 meeting.
