Stark County commissioners unanimously approve broad slate of appropriations, contracts and plats

The Stark County Board of Commissioners on June 17 approved a series of routine fiscal, contract and land-use actions, voting unanimously on appropriations, budget transfers, requisitions and multiple final plats.
Finance presenter Kris Miller outlined appropriations and intergovernmental journal entries that the board approved, including a $350 appropriation for an expert witness tied to LETF reimbursement for the Prosecutor, a $5,000 transfer for the Coroner, a $51,861.17 SCOG share payment and CDBG/HOME reimbursements totaling $45,342.24. The board approved recurring phone charges of $150,000 to CBTS Technology Solutions and several department requisitions for construction and services.
In engineering matters, the board approved a professional services agreement with Accenture not to exceed $122,000 for construction administration and inspection on the Northvale Avenue Bridge Project and authorized Change Order No. 5 with Wenger Excavating for the Dressler Road Improvement Project. The Sanitary Engineer’s office was authorized to award Project P-641 (Manhole Rehabilitation) to Advanced Rehab Technology for $423,252.50.
Regional Planning brought a package of final plats and related actions. The board accepted streets and public improvements for Julian Farm No. 1 and released its performance bond while accepting a maintenance bond, and approved final plats for Berkshire Farms No. 8, Dimmerling Estates No. 3, Downs & Hinton's Acreage Allotment No. 4 (Rev-2), Portview No. 4 and Sparwood Farms No. 3. A mutual release agreement related to the jury management system with Catalis Public Works & Citizen Engagement LLC also passed.
Other routine items included approval of multiple travel requests and a collective bargaining agreement between the Stark County Sheriff and the Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council covering lieutenants and captains. All motions in these matters were recorded as passing by a 3-0 vote.
The board recessed into an executive session to discuss pending litigation under O.R.C. 121.22(G)(3) before adjourning at 2:40 p.m.
