EDA hears Dairyland timeline update and approves 2021 CEDA contract

At its Nov. 5 meeting the Harmony Economic Development Authority received an update on the Dairyland project and approved its economic development services contract for 2021.
Chris Giesen briefed the board on Dairyland, saying the business expects to know by Christmas whether the project will move forward; if approved, construction is scheduled for 2021. The board discussed logistics and noted it could call special meetings to accommodate tight timelines.
Giesen also presented a contract renewal from Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA) for 2021. He said the renewal rate is a 3% increase over the 2020 rate for the existing service level (one day per week plus one extra day per month) and that the language remained the same as prior years. Motion and vote: Steve Donney moved and Kerry Kingsley seconded approval of the contract as presented; the motion carried unanimously.
Other items noted: the board reviewed Experience Harmony goals and discussed exploring electric vehicle charging stations; Giesen reported ongoing contact with prospects and anticipated loan applications at the next meeting. The meeting adjourned at 9:01 AM; the next regular meeting is Dec. 3, 2020 at 7:30 AM.
