City Administrator Adam Kofoed described a proposed one-year, single-user subscription to LexisNexis that the city would use to locate residents who moved out leaving delinquent utility accounts and to identify rental customers eligible for refunds when they move elsewhere in Iowa.
Kofoed said the single-user access would cost $150 per month and that the plan would be to subscribe for one year to review current records, contact identified customers, and then close out the subscription until needed in the future. Council did not vote on the proposal at the March 2 meeting and directed staff to place the item on the next meeting agenda for further action.
What happens next: The subscription proposal will return on a future council agenda for a formal vote and any budget authorization.
