Terry Dvorak of Red Lion Solar Energy presented a privately funded proposal to add solar arrays to up to 10 of the city’s 18 properties, naming potential sites including City Hall, Town Hall, the library, the fire department, the streets shop, both water towers, Cubby Park and the wastewater treatment plant.
Councilmembers and staff discussed timeframe, logistics and feasibility. The minutes record that a committee will meet to evaluate options and how to proceed with the potential project. No action or financial commitment was made at the meeting.
What happens next: A committee will review technical feasibility, site suitability, potential lease or purchase arrangements, and any required interdepartmental coordination. Funding and contractual terms were not decided at the March 2 meeting.
