The Underwood City Council approved a request from Patrick Woodson to close Faith Avenue from North Street to Hope Avenue for a Fourth of July event on July 4 (11:00 a.m. to 12:01 a.m. July 5). The council voted 5-0 to grant the closure; the city will provide barricades but Woodson will place them.
Council also approved a $250 donation for the high school post-prom (moved by Jim Pingel, seconded by Kelle Erwin) and granted a five-day event alcohol license for Kate Bristow at The Greenhouse Event Space for April 9–13, 2026 after confirming the Alcohol Beverage Division retains final authority.
The council approved the consent agenda and claims, which included line-item vendor payments and payroll. The minutes record a subtotal of $446,869.47 in claims, payroll of $21,776.07, and a total of $468,645.54 for March 2026.
Next steps: event organizers and city staff to coordinate barricade placement and required compliance with the Alcohol Beverage Division's procedures; staff to process approved claims and payments.
