Underwood council approves law enforcement, library contracts and amends employee cafeteria plan

The Underwood City Council voted 5-0 to approve a one-year law enforcement services contract with the Pottawattamie County Sheriff covering July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 for $17,029.00. Kelle Erwin moved and Keith Rodenburg seconded the motion.
Council approved the Council Bluffs Library annual contract for 2026–2027 for $7,090.75 and adopted Resolution 26-04-03 to approve an amended Section 125 Cafeteria Plan, effective June 1, 2026. The Section 125 resolution was adopted by roll call 5-0.
Council members recorded no abstentions and directed staff to finalize contract documents and implement the amended benefits plan on the stated effective date.
Next steps: staff to execute the contracts and update payroll/benefits administration to reflect the Section 125 amendments.
