County hears Enrichment Services presentation; planning, water and public‑works updates advanced

Planning and Zoning recommendations discussed during the work session included proposed changes to the conditional‑use permit (CUP) process: items the planning board suggested include removing a CUP requirement for building on tracts of five acres or more in some circumstances, clarifying CUP requirements for modular homes and stick‑built homes on new parcels under an acre, and ensuring all health‑department and zoning permits are obtained before placement. The county attorney will review the draft changes before they are returned to the commission for further discussion.
Other items discussed for the May 6 agenda included Friendship Road bid follow‑up, a bank‑signer resolution to transfer funds from a legacy account, a potential $2 monthly increase to residential trash service, purchasing a batwing tractor (quotes to be provided), and continued personnel matters discussed in executive session. No final votes on these operational items are recorded in the April minutes; they were forwarded for consideration at the May meeting.
