Lamont council appoints Paula J. Harvey as city clerk, approves law contract and attorney pay increase

At its Jan. 14 meeting the Lamont City Council appointed Paula J. Harvey as city clerk, approved a $26,598 law contract for FY27 and raised the city attorney's hourly rate to $175; each measure passed by unanimous vote.
The Lamont City Council on Jan. 14 appointed Paula J. Harvey as city clerk and approved several administrative measures including a FY27 legal-services contract and an increase in the city attorney’s hourly compensation.
The council voted to appoint Paula J. Harvey to a two-year term as city clerk. The motion to appoint Harvey was made by Paul Lincoln and seconded by JoDee Devlin; the vote was recorded as ayes from Mark Adams, Jarrod Lamphier, JoDee Devlin and Paul Lincoln. The action carried as Resolution 26-01.
Council also designated the Press Journal as the city’s official publication. That motion, made by Jarrod Lamphier and seconded by Paul Lincoln, carried unanimously as Resolution 26-02.
Separately, the council approved an amendment to city attorney compensation setting the rate at $175 per hour, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The motion was made by JoDee Devlin and seconded by Jarrod Lamphier; the motion passed as Resolution 26-03.
The council approved a FY27 law contract in the amount of $26,598.00, described in the meeting record as a per-capita rate of $62.00 based on the 2020 census population of 429. That motion was made by Paul Lincoln and seconded by Mark Adams and passed as Resolution 26-04.
All administrative measures noted above were adopted by recorded motions and unanimous council votes during the Jan. 14 meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
