The Shorewood Park Commission recapped a May 3 volunteer tree planting in Freeman Park and approved routine meeting items before adjourning at 8:00 p.m.
Parks and Recreation Manager Czech thanked volunteers, including two from the Tonka United Soccer Association, and said staff and Public Works together planted a total of 59 trees in Freeman Park. "In total, fifty‑nine trees were planted in Freeman Park," Czech said.
Procedural votes: Commissioner Wenner moved to approve the meeting agenda and later moved to approve the April 22, 2025 minutes; both motions were seconded by Commissioner Sylvester and carried 3‑0. At the meeting’s close Wenner moved to adjourn, Sylvester seconded, and the motion carried 3‑0; the meeting ended at 8:00 p.m.
Staff updates: Czech said staff are working through a previously compiled park‑tour maintenance list and will provide an update to the Commission about completed and outstanding items. He thanked the Public Works Department for its recent efforts. Commissioner Wenner agreed to give the Council report on June 23, 2025.
