Bruce said sidewalk and final curbing are complete at the new skate park, grading on the parking lot is nearly finished, fence footers were poured and the fence location was moved because of Department of Natural Resources concerns about the floodplain. He said sod and final grading are expected before the next council meeting and the concrete bowl work is planned for mid- to late October.
On wastewater infrastructure, Bruce said lining work began on the 10th and is proceeding with Midwestern overseeing the contractor. He reported the old plant and new plant input/effluent numbers and confirmed no sludge pressing during the reported period.
Bruce also reported a rooftop air-conditioning quote above $10,000 and said he would solicit additional bids; council discussed splitting roofing bids into four alternates with a tentative bid opening set for Oct. 29 and recommended sealed-bid handling and a formal opening with the clerk-treasurer present.
The council took routine, non-policy actions on project logistics and accepted the report; several follow-up items were assigned to staff for quotes and scheduling.
