EDA hears update on trail-extension plan, DNR land transfer and public hearing timing

Staff told the EDA the DNR plans a public hearing on the trail plan amendment in January or February 2021 and expects to complete the land transfer soon after the new year; staff will notify the chair and trail committee of updates.
At the Dec. 3 meeting, staff updated the Harmony EDA on the proposed trail extension. Chris Giesen said the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources expects to hold the required public hearing on the trail plan amendment in January or February 2021 and anticipates completing the land transfer shortly after the new year.
Giesen said he will keep the board chair and the trail committee informed of any immediate developments. No formal action or vote was taken on the trail item at this meeting.
