Kenyon — At its March 11 meeting the council approved a resolution accepting a donation from the Kenyon Fire Relief Association, voted to add insulation to municipal office walls for privacy and tabled a proposed lot combination for property owner Scott Bowen while staff clarify easement and sewer issues.
The donation resolution was read and adopted by voice vote. Later, a staff recommendation to install sound-deadening foam in the administration office (and optionally in the conference room) passed after council members said the work was a minimal intrusion and would safeguard private conversations.
On a separate land-use item, staff and councilors flagged a stray public sewer line that runs through the lots proposed for combination and noted the applicant lacked a certificate of survey with post-combination legal descriptions. Council voted to table the lot-combination request and directed Derek to consult with the applicant about the sewer and easement issues before the matter returns to the council.
Chief Jeff also gave a brief police-hiring update during the meeting; councilors thanked crews for snow removal efforts in recent storms. The meeting concluded with schedule reminders and adjournment.
