Office for the Aging reports funding increase, seeks to fill grounds-worker role; county accepts $600 donation for Child Advocacy Center

Anita Madison, director of the Office for the Aging, told the Allegany County Ways and Means Committee on June 24 that the office needs to finalize revenue tied to the congregate service initiative grant. Madison said the Office had budgeted “440” in the 2026 county budget but is now receiving “1,373” in state funding for 2026; the transcript does not specify units for those figures. Madison also requested permission to fill one full-time grounds worker position for the Office for the Aging. Separately, Don Horn requested a resolution to accept and appropriate a $600 donation to support the Child Advocacy Center from the Jack Shepard Memorial Mission Fund of the First Presbyterian Church. The committee approved acceptance of the gift and thanked the donor.
