William Penn SD schedules June 30 special meeting to vote on 2026–27 budget; superintendent highlights graduates and summer services

The William Penn School District board scheduled a special virtual meeting for 6:30 p.m. on June 30 to take action on the proposed 2026–27 budget, Superintendent Dr. Bikoes said at the board’s June 22 meeting.
Dr. Bikoes opened the district report by congratulating graduates and noting, “There were 361 high school seniors who participated in commencement exercises at Neumann University on June 11th.” She also reviewed end-of-year activities and programming, including the district musical, Pinewood High School’s first Global Day, and the Dancing Classrooms program.
The superintendent detailed student supports and operational items for the summer: the district will provide free summer meals for children 18 and under at multiple sites; district offices will observe summer hours beginning June 29 with Fridays in July and one Friday in August closed; and school registration remains open ahead of a Sept. 1 start date.
Dr. Bikoes told the board the proposed budget document is available via a slide deck and a Teams link and urged members of the public to join the June 30 virtual meeting to review and vote on the budget. “There will be a special meeting on June the 30th at 6:30 p.m. where the board will take action on the proposed budget for 2026-2027,” she said.
The board approved routine meeting business at the June 22 session, including motions to adopt the June 22 agenda and to approve prior minutes, by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
The board also said it will discuss and lay out the superintendent search process at its next business meeting on July 27, when the session returns to an in-person format.
