Kathi Pifer elected chair as committee approves minutes; parks, veterans memorial and development items discussed

During the January meeting, Tyler Fairchild asked the group to elect officers. The committee elected Kathi Pifer as chairperson and approved the November minutes; the meeting was adjourned by Chair Kathi Pifer. The minutes were submitted by Tom and Sue Miller.
Kathi Pifer reported that Potteiger Park landscaping was completed, that a bench will be placed in the park honoring Paul and Marty Fulmer, and that trim has been ordered to repair the small pavilion. She said Chewy funds remaining for Potteiger Park are approximately $9,000 and the committee discussed using those funds to purchase a memorial sign for the Potteiger family.
Jennie Batchelor described St. Stephen Lutheran Church’s community offerings, including EMS Game Night, Fuse meetings for kids, community dinners and Winterfest for high-school and college students. Tyler Fairchild and Tom Miller reported progress on the Veterans’ Memorial at Willow Mill Park.
Clarence Bouchet told the group that the Kost Road trailer storage lot proposal was tabled, that CarStar was approved though no activity is yet underway, and that the Trindle Spring Warehouse project was denied by township supervisors and the developer has appealed. Michael McDonald was reported to be working on properties with code violations in New Kingstown. The committee took the procedural actions to elect leadership and approve minutes; no other formal motions were recorded.
