The Lyman Select Board on June 22 elected David Alves as chair and Joseph (Joe) Wagner as vice chair.
A board member nominated David Alves for chair and another member seconded the nomination; members discussed how remote participation affects chairing duties before approving the motion. The board then nominated Joe Wagner for vice chair. During discussion one member recounted a public comment alleging concerns about possible retaliation and described the commenter as a long-time town resident who also serves on several volunteer bodies. Joe Wagner said he was prepared to perform vice-chair duties and had used prepared remarks to respond carefully to prior comments. The board voted 4–1 to appoint Wagner vice chair.
The appointments conclude the board’s short reorganization at the start of the meeting; both offices will carry the duties and responsibilities outlined in the town’s meeting procedures. The board moved on to its regular agenda after the votes.
