Treasurer reviews technology vendors and federal grant allocations for coming year

During the meeting the treasurer outlined the district's relationships with technology vendors and provided a summary of federal grant allocations for the coming year, including Title I, II, III, IV and IDEA funds.
The treasurer described Forte as a new vendor (the district's former sales representative moved to that company) that offers the same brands and broader service, and said the district will continue ordering Clever Touch touchscreen displays and Chromebooks as classrooms move away from projectors. "Clever Touch TVs are our display touchscreen TVs," the treasurer explained, noting wireless streaming capabilities and a classroom rollout this year.
On federal funding, the treasurer said Title I funds (typically used for literacy and targeted to low‑income students) remain strong and the district recently received a national award tied to its Title I work. Title II funding supports staff professional development and the treasurer said available carryover could raise that fund from about $10,000 to roughly $15,000 subject to allowable spending periods. Title III funding for English learners is small (roughly $700) and the district participates in an ESC Northeast Ohio consortium to pool resources. The treasurer described IDEA funding as the primary special‑education fund that also supports preschool special‑education programs.
A board member asked about a sewer‑district rate increase; the treasurer acknowledged the question and said relevant amounts and five‑year projections would be considered in future finance discussions. The treasurer closed the finance business and the board moved on to superintendent items.
