Hicks acknowledged the problem but said the equipment had been parked in the alley before the Police Department required it to move. City Attorney Don Bigham said he would review existing ordinances and weight limits as possible legal approaches for the council to consider.
The council did not take immediate action to change parking rules during the meeting; the city attorney’s review was the next step noted on the record. The meeting adjourned after a later executive-session discussion on litigation.
